How do you assemble tattoo tubes?

I recently bought my first tattoo tubes (I've been tattooing for a few months but with my now ex-teacher's tubes) and I was wondering how do you put them together?
How far in the grip does the backstem has to go and how far in does the tip have to go.
I would only like answers from experienced people if possible.

well you don't want the tube going too far back since you need rubber bands on the needle to stabilize it. but basically you'll figure out an in-between position, just make sure all the screws in the grip are holding both the tube and the tip. otherwise the tip will slide right off while tattooing and that is a pain in the ass.
