If I spray painted a stencil design on a T-Shirt, how long will it stay?
I have a few big stencils that I want to spray paint onto a white T shirt. Will it be stiff to wear? How long will it stay on the shirt before it fades or cracks to the point where it looks horrible? It's not really a detailed stencil. I'm planning on just using regular spray paint, this is just a spontaneous thing to do and I don't really want to go to the store and buy a bunch of stuff and spend money. Thanks
what's fabric paint? Is it like a spray-on or in a bottle, and is it expensive?
OK - this is an alternative - but cheap way - to fabric paint your T.
Liquid acrylic paint (usually around a $1 a bottle at any wal,K mart-or Michaels)
You'll need to thin it with water OR fabric medium.
Use a spray-pump bottle - like a windex bottle or one with a trigger. Those little travel spray pump bottles work great!
Fill with some paint - You don't need to FILL it up all the way - just so the paint/water is being sucked up to the sprayer.
Put your t-shirt over a piece of cardboard - this will help it stand up and make the paint not bleed through to the back. You can lay it flat but it's more difficult to spray it this way.
Spray lightly - especially around the edges of your stencil - and work your way IN from the edges of the stencil. Don't over saturate.
Let it dry completely.
