Oh you just reminded me, I forgot to add (sorry) that we can't use the IV prep, numbing cream, or any other insertion assistance. It interferes with the sensor's accuracy. Just alcohol.
Oh! Don't use an IV prep pad for the sensor...it's a major no-no. For the infusion site you'll be fine, but not for the sensor. My eleven year old is using the same type of pump, for use it seems the transmitter is "getting caught" on simple things like clothing, pulling the sensor out. We simply went for the "no ouch" band-aides. She puts one on the transmitter to hold in in place. It's cut down on a lot of the problems.
