Because 'Sex With Aliens' seems like a rather indelicate title, although it's
a more accurate summation of my actual inquiry. This is an admittedly odd
question because I have an admittedly odd hobby: science fiction. And in
science fiction, especially in the undisciplined, popular sort that permeates
movies and video games, sex and intermarriage with extraterrestrials is a
common occurrence, though they typically gloss over all the moral implications
of such a phenomenon, not to speak of the nonexistence of the implications for
a Christian paradigm.
The Vatican observatory once gave remarks to the effect that the discovery of
alien life would not affect the economy of salvation in the least. If they had
any other recommendations as to how else to deal with them as a possible
reality, I have not seen it.
Now, for the purposes of clear definitions, when I say 'alien life' I mean a
sentient race that clearly exhibits both will and intellect, the defining
qualities that make man into 'the image and likeness of God', quite apart from
any accident of physical evolution, including whether or no they are even
