Does it ever blow your mind how kids don't understand "full adjustable 35mm film SLR?"?
For their classes.
I think that the point of the question was not to mull over philosophically about film vs digital and what kids aren't interested in trying. I think that the point was why can't they pay attention. We want to talk about how kids want technology, well they have it.
How difficult is it for said student, given the instructions to get a '35mm SLR' to actually look that up? If you google (or yahoo as I do) 35mm SLR, the first link that comes up in the search is Wikipedia's article on single lens reflex cameras. And it is a pretty good article. It has photos of SLR cameras, diagrams and an explanation of the reflex mechanism, and even distinguishes between the 35mm and medium format SLR.
Yet there are still students who ask here everyday whether they can use a digital SLR when the class specifically asks for 35mm.
To answer the question, no it doesn't blow my mind at all that teenagers are too lazy to look something up for themselves.
edit-It's in the context. When the OP said "full adjustable 35mm film SLR" I knew exactly what she meant because we see it here everyday. Didn't need the added details to explain it.
